Why the Orlando Area is Perfect for You

Orlando. Located in Lake Eola Park, Orla

The amazing weather and permanent vacation feel are only the beginning of the reasons why to live in Orlando. Here are some of the compelling reasons to live in "The City Beautiful," and believe us, there are more reasons than this.

For many residents, the best thing about living in the Orlando area is the weather. It's climate is conducive to outdoor activities year-round; you can truly be outside nearly 365 days of the year and enjoy the lakes, oceans, springs, and more. The average high temperature is 73° during the winter months and 91°- 92° during the summer months. In the summer, there are mild rains and thunderstorms to cool things down, and in the winter, there are nice, cool evenings that can be enjoyed outside by a fire.

Beach Bar

Entertainment at your fingertips here in Orlando! Not only are Disney World®, SeaWorld® and Universal Studios® in the Orlando area, but so are some of the lesser known, but very fun attractions like Gatorland, Island H20 Live!, Legoland, ICON Park, and loads of excitement at the abundance of resorts in the area. Also, the arts are celebrated, and a regular schedule of operas, musicals, and plays are performed at the Dr. Phillips Center For The Performing Arts. National parks and springs are at your fingertips too, and they provide days filled with adventure and wildlife.

Orlando is home to the Orlando Magic (NBA), Orlando City Soccer (men’s professional soccer), Orlando Pride (women’s professional soccer) and the Orlando Solar Bears (minor league hockey). Camping World Stadium is home to a number of college bowl games each year too.  There are also over 100 golf courses and lakes, many of which that are large enough for boating and water sports. Youth baseball, softball, football, soccer, tennis, lacrosse, cheerleading, and gymnastics are huge.

In addition to the hospitality and tourism industry, a little-known fact is other industries that are rapidly expanding in Orlando such as aerospace and defense, life sciences and healthcare, innovative technologies, and more. Orlando ranks #1 in the country for manufacturing job growth. Some major corporations with a large presence in Orlando are AAA, Darden Restaurants, Hughes Supply, JetBlue, Lockheed Martin, Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Americas, Nemours Foundation, Siemens Energy, SunTrust Bank, and the Tupperware Corporation.

There are excellent public K-12 schools in the metro Orlando area as well as excellent private schools that provide superior educational programs, such as Lake Highland Preparatory School, Windermere Preparatory School, and Foundation Academy. There are also some very well-known colleges with great educational, arts, and sports' programs (to name a few), such as Rollins College, University of Central Florida, Valencia College, and Seminole State Community College.

Cost of Living

The cost of living is below the national average, which means living here costs less than many other cities, which are just as popular, throughout the United States. The biggest bonus is that Florida is one of nine states that has no state income tax. That's a huge savings. City transport and more residential opportunities in areas that you can easily enjoy by foot (think: restaurants, bars, entertainment, and more right in your backyard) also make Orlando, "The City Beautiful," financially attractive.
